Vividoll – My Experience (An Update)
OK, so I was told that they will give me a cash refund that will be transferred to my account “as soon as” they can on Mar 08, 2012.
Wrote to vividoll this morning to check on the status of the refund. Response on Mar 14, 2012 at 2:09PM:
Dear Jes
We are so sorry for the delay. My boss has been busy, and have not had time to refund you.
We will refund you by this weekend, and will notify you when we do.
From Vividoll customer service officer,

Busy getting more stocks in instead of tending to the customers having bad experiences with vividoll? Sigh….
Hi,
After my explanation, you might get a better idea of how sites like vividoll work. Especially those that always say in stock for all theor items.
Have you ever noticed how all their dresses, all their clothes are always in stock on their webpage? This is because actually they don’t hold any stock at all, don’t believe for a second that they have a 3000ft warehouse as claimed. If they did, where is the Chinese address? What they are actually doing is drop shipping. This means that they are just a middleman in this retail game. They will take your order and pass it on to the supplier websites such as wholesale7, asian fashion wholesale or other similar Chinese wholesaling sites. If you head over to wholesale 7, you will notice they have a dropship service for resellers. Vividoll has no idea at all whether an item is in stock at the chinese website or not, all they do when they receive an order is to collect money and pass it on to their the chinese website, who then ships it over to singapore. So all they can do is put in stock for all items on their website and then pray that their suppliers have the stick.
If you would like to check it our for yourself, do this. Go to vividoll, select any item they have for sale, then on the product image, right click and copy image URL, and then use google search by image to find similar pictures. You will realize that almost almost there will be a chinese wholesale site that sells at half of what you are paying at Vividoll.
Secondly, Vividoll claims to be a registered company in Singapore, but where is the company registration number on the website? A quick check with ACRA will reveal that they is no company registered under the name of vividoll. Also, where in Singapore is Vividoll’s company address? You can’t find it anywhere on the website either.
So actually you are dealing with a unregistered company, probably a fly by night operation. So use vividoll at your own risk.
Oh by the way, if vividoll was a registered company, you can just go to small claims tribunal, part of Singapore courts, to get your money back.
Small claims tribunal does not require you to hire lawyer, and application is $10 dollars only.
But if vividoll is not registered, even if you go small claims tribunal, the courts won’t be able to serve the notice to them since you don’t know who they are.
Hi again,
Vividoll has two web addresses, vividoll.com and vividoll.sg. A quick check (using the whois search at the top) with http://www.sgnic.sg/ which is the internet registry for Singapore will reveal that vividoll.sg is registered with a company named Korean Fashion Wholesale that is located at 650 SENJA LINK #02-02 S(670650) with a handphone number of +6598258455.
After which, a check with ACRA will reveal that the business registration for Korean Fashion Wholesale has been cancelled. The business registration number was 53175130M.
So at least if anyone does decide to bring vividoll to small claims tribunal, you will at least be able to serve the court notice on them through the business registration number which is linked to the person’s identity.
Hi Felix
Thank you for sharing! This is very insightful and I believe some of the readers will find it helpful too
Well, they still have not transferred the money to me yet as they said they would…. Now they are just missing in action. What luck. Hope no one else is having such experience with vividoll.
This sharing is indeed v insightful! I also hv really bad experience w them … There was a defect in item sent and I was told I can post back for exchange BUT AT MY OWN COST! Unbelievable. Despite my unhappiness etc , they did nothing about it… And made me wait for 1.5-2 months b4 telling me no stock:( faint…..
Hello Jen. Thanks and am glad that the post was somehow helpful
Well, part and parcel of online shopping. It is ultimately up to you to decide whether the trouble is worth it. Gmarket has been draining my pockets since my excruciating experience with Vividoll. Haa! Hope your online shopping experience will get better. Cheers!
It is illegal to conduct a business without registration from ACRA.
Hi Jack
Thank you. It does seem that they do have a registration made but under a different company name and they did not specify the registration number on vividoll.com.
I also just had an bad experience too. I ordered 2items which they put it in stock and even paid extra for express delivery. felt that I was being conned for paying the extra shipping charges which they claim able to track my items of its location. so I wrote email to them and check since I always see my status the same, they only reply tell me it is still in progress. then still no news after that.So i told them can i cancel my order, and they suddenly they tell me one of my item is out of stock! now I am worried that if I would even recieve my items or not?
Hi Korea_girl76
It is common for consumers to pay for express delivery service should they opt to use it and registered mail for parcel tracking. It was made known to me by another kind soul that they might not keep stock of what items they have and what not so my conclusion is not to trust their “In Stock” status. You can demand for a cash refund. As a standard practice to keep customers, they might offer to refund you in credits so that you can buy something else. I insisted on cash refund and cut my ties with them since. You still have your options
Thank you for your advise. Yes I intend to ask for cash refund since I am also going to cut ties with them once and for all !! I would prefer gmarket instead because at least I am able to check base on my status even for any type of normal delivery. I can even do cancellation if they have not started to process my items yet. I think their practice is normally takes 3 days to really confirm taking my orders. But I guess every kind of online transaction got its own risk. Sometimes I hear complains about gmarket too.
Hi Korea_girl76
Personally, I weigh my pros and cons and make my decisions based on the reviews for the products of a seller on qoo10.sg (“gmarket”) before browsing through the items. My decision to purchase is based on the majority of the recent reviews by the different buyers. Looking out for reviews on 1. shipping 2. quality and 3. accuracy of the pictures against the actual product may help you reduce the risk of disappointment. Hope these help
Vividoll- my item #029927 was fully purchased on 24/12/2012. Until now, no sign of it being ship. Send so many email & tweet them @ twitter but no respond! What should i do??
Hi idah laverne
Thank you for sharing. You could wait for a response from vividoll should you choose to. I have been satisfied with my purchases from qoo10.sg since my last episode with vividoll. My personal view is to always check out the reviews of a store before making the decision to buy. I do hope that they will provide you with a favorable reply soon.
Best of luck.
